New Website and Design System for a large retail bank
We carried out a comprehensive redesign and frontend update of both the website and mobile version, refreshed communications and texts, and created and are developing a new design system for the bank.
About the company
The bank is one of the largest retail banks in the CIS, and is considered one of the most reliable banks in the region, creating financial solutions for private clients and entrepreneurs.
Tasks
The main goals of the bank’s website are to help clients manage budgets, protect and grow their income, solve and optimize business tasks and processes, as well as exchange experience and knowledge within the client community.
A client was looking to:
-
Update the brand's communication language;
-
Simplify user pathways;
-
Enhance the user experience and online resource efficiency of PSB;
-
Create a user-friendly structure, guiding users through the numerous products and services the bank offers.
-
Systematize everything into a single design system;
-
Introduce innovation;
-
Ensure a consistent style that is both user-friendly and modern
-
Change the brand's voice and make texts more human and comprehensive for everyday users.
Solution
Our team fully immersed itself in aspects of the bank’s offering and the needs of its clients, ranging from separate individuals to entire corporations. We analyzed user pathways and pain points, and the best practices in the financial market. We carefully planned the website’s informational architecture and navigation, created several conceptual solutions and began working on sweeping changes to the bank's online presence.
New Visual Language and Communications
We crafted a modern, tech-first visual language for the brand. The visual language brings together a collection of elements assisting communication with the user and the shaping of their experience on the website. The visual language also conveyed the brand's values and character.
Our team implemented various color coding and styles for each business direction. For premium branches of the bank, such as “Orange Premium Club” and “Private Banking”, Audax created separate websites and design solutions and unified all three into the umbrella bank design system.
A design system encompasses a brand’s visual language, style guidelines, UI components, and code. It helps systematize all visual elements of the brand and product interface, leading to faster development and project scaling.
Simplified User Pathways
We streamlined the structure and navigation, focusing on solving users' problems and improving their experience.
Convenient Guide for Clients
We developed credit and mortgage calculators, concise service descriptions, various support tools, and simple forms to transform the website into a convenient guide for all PSB client groups.
Hundreds of New Pages
We designed new pages for 11 business branches within the bank and developed all of the websites frontend. The result was over 300 product and informational pages.
Updated Brand Voice and UX Texts
We not only changed the overall visual design and branding, but also optimized the websites messaging and copywriting. Now bank clients can much more easily find answers to their questions and understand complex issues. We developed a TOV (Tone of Voice) and wrote UX texts for a client, creating a design system for all websites and its various mobile versions.
3D Illustration Builder
We created a 3D illustration generation tool equipped with all foundational elements needed to create new illustrations. This is a useful tool for future project scaling, design standardization, and project onboarding. We created a total of 900 stylish illustrations for different bank directions. The visual style of illustrations is now also used for offline materials.
Mobile-Friendly
We made all design solutions adaptive for mobile devices.
