About the company

Perekrestok is a major supermarket chain in the CIS, managed by the X5 Group. It was founded in 1995 and has grown to become one of the largest modern food retailers in the country, focusing on providing a wide range of products to affluent customers.

The Task

In early 2021, aim was approached by a long-time client, Perekrestok. They needed to launch a web version of their express delivery app as quickly as possible. With many still social distancing in the height of the pandemic, home delivery was at an ultimate high. At the time, Perekrestok only offered delivery via their mobile app, they found that they had a growing segment of potential customers who were looking to order online from their desktop. looking to meet their customers’ needs, they turned to Audax to launch a desktop web store. 

Solution

The client wanted the new site to fit seamlessly into the Perekrestok ecosystem. With this in mind, the product team decided to replicate the customer’s existing express delivery mobile app in the web version. 

Design and development took 5 months and included the complete analysis of Perekrestok user experience spanning the past three years. Our team mapped out and optimized customer journeys for the retail network and express delivery, identifying client needs and business goals.

We developed designs for the homepage and internal pages: the catalog, product cards,, user accounts, product categories,  loyalty programs, order forms, support chats, etc. We prepared mockups and a full UI kit for easy development and future scaling.

Results

Following the launch, the average number of visitors in the first months in production went from 0 to 19,000 daily and over 500,000 per month. The web based store front at this time brought in over 2,000 additional orders per day, providing the project success.
